Ward Air began as a single pilot single aircraft
operation out of Juneau in 1974 by Ken Ward. In 1993
Ken Ward sold the company to its current owners. Two
of the current owners are longtime pilots who flew for
Ward Air, brothers Ed and Randy Kiesel. Ed is the
company President and Randy is the Chief Pilot. Together
the Kiesel brothers have flown throughout Southeast
Alaska a combined 30,000 hours making them some of the
most experienced pilots in this region.
Here at Ward Air our high standard of maintenance and
hiring of only the most experienced and skilled pilots has
helped us build an impeccable reputation, both locally and
throughout Southeast Alaska. Ward Air is the company
that the locals fly with. Our clientele includes hunters,
fishermen, contractors, cargo shippers and sightseers. No
other flying service in Juneau is as respected as Ward Air.
Ward Air is proud of its long standing contracts with
the United States Forest Service, Alaska Department of
Fish & Game, Greens Creek Mine, Alaska Electric Light
& Power (AEL&P), and Douglas Island Pink And Chum
(DIPAC). Greens Creek mine has been flying its
employees and supplies exclusively with Ward Air for
over 30 years. We fly Fish and Game to some of the most
remote locations in Southeast Alaska to do studies on the
local fish and wildlife. The Snettisham complex includes
a hydro-electric plant operated by AEL&P and a Salmon
Hatchery operated by DIPAC. Both have been supported
by Ward Air since the inception of the company.
What makes our company so unique and successful is
our high regard and value of every customer and client. If
you've flown with us you already know what we mean; if
you haven't yet, we sure hope we get the chance to show
you.
